Pampering our pets

So it's a well-known fact that as humans, we tend to spoil our "children" (aka our beloved pets) endlessly.

So I was wondering...does anyone else here like to paint their boxer's nails? Or pamper them in a similar way? I painted Stella's nails bright flashy pink just now. All whilest her brother, Bogart was jumping on me, wanting to get his done it seems. Pictures behind the cut.

& yes, I am covered in nail polish right now.

What a beautiful girl!

Freya's pampering comes in more of a comfort way than a cosmetic thing...though I'm sure she'd LOVE to have her nails painted. Purple of course...it would go so well with her purple spiked collar *LOL* (Well, more studded I guess...the 'spikes' are fairly rounded off)

She must have a pillow to rest her head on at all times. And she must have a blanket within easy reach.

Saying that...I do pamper her with a nice, warm bath once in a while. She LOVES having a bath and gets so excited when I get her towels out of the linen closet. Once her collar comes off, she jumps in the tub...whether or not it's ready. *LOL*

Ro is a show dog, so he gets all kinds of pampering. He has "manicure" every week (i use the dremel to file down his nails). He has his face shaved every week, to shorten his whiskers. On show weekends, he gets a bath the night before, and comes out smelling like a flower. The day of his shows, he gets chalk added to his white bits to make them stand out more. This black spray stuff gets brushed into the black of his mask (face markings). Whenever we have a couple of shows in a row, instead of doing the face black every day, our handler will actually dye the mask with a little lady clairol hair dye, so i suppose that's sort of like getting a facial. We also make sure to rub a little vitamin e oil into his nose to keep it from looking dry, so that's a bit like a "moisturizer" treatment.

We've never painted his nails, although we keep them short enough that i don't know that it would be all that noticeable. He does get all kinds of other beauty treatments though. I'm certain that some people would definitely think it's excessive pampering, but it's all part of the job.
